Housing conditions/habitability

Michael

In Oct of 2012 I called code enforcement on the landlord, a woman who knows nothing about real estate has since retaliated by trying to evict myself and my roommate. My roommate and I had to pay for an attorney and then went to fair housing and they have opened an investigation for all kinds of miss deeds and quoting laws that do not exist.

Well I have a leak in the roof in my laundry room which is a new adddition they added before I rented, anyways I touched by the leak and the dry wall just gave way, and I noticed mold. So I called a roofer to come out to tell me the exact damage and cost because my landlord would just sent a maintance guy and patch it , which I can tell they have done before. The roofer told me the whole roof where the new additions are had to be replaced.

I have advised my onsite manager of excessive moisture and mold previously and it was brushed off, and I was advised to keep my windows cracked. Recently a new onsite manager started and I again notified them of excessive moisture. She came to inspect and found several issues, non-working bathroom ventilation fan, excessively leaking windows (even if cracked), a wall that is warped from moisture and a wall unit AC that needed replacement. A private contractor came to inspect a couple of days later and that same day my manager called to tell me I had to move to another unit.

I have been having problems with my home situation since I found a notice of trustee sale early this year and have come to not trust my "landlord". I believe the bank has taken this property (two "homes" piece of property I reside). I voiced many concerns regarding the place I live (gate not working for months, washer not working and leaking, trouble w/ toilet, bug infestations, etc) and am now hearing a real estate lady is going to show my place after i said no. I need help in determining what I should be doing in this case.

I am facing an eviction which i feel has been illegally forced up on me by perpertrators that were denying me employment, healthcare, and humane living conditions suitable for children and raising a family. What happened was i was living as caregiver for my grandparents before they passed away. the house went into foreclosure after they passed away and since i didnt have job or wasnt attending college. I didnt have work experience which looked good for my resume to employers.

Landlords have been found in violation of illegally renting apartments that are considered occupant non-permitted and uninhabitable conditions; rather than landlords working with tenant, we have been illegally evicted with unlawful detainer and have been retaliated against. Landlords have an attorney who is not willing to communicate with us and making it extremely difficult for us. I suffer from HIV, anxiety, depression, heart palpitations and high blood pressure; it is unfortunate that they do not care about our health during the process of litigation in small claims court.

Paid rent on time for six years. The rent was much higher than what the place was worth. Landlord kept deposit after I moved out. The reason I moved was because the landlord wanted to move back in. When I moved in the place was mess but it seemed like the new landlord was a decent person so I didn't mind cleaning it up, etc. there were some things that I could not do in terms of repairs or remodeling because it Wes too much money. The landlord continually encouraged And even ask about me doing remodeling of the place.
