Since January 1st, 2013 under AB 2610 tenants in California are entitled to a minimum of 90 days notice before eviction. Leases must also be honored by new owners, with some exceptions.
City-level Just Cause for Eviction and Rent Control Ordinances
Tenants in cities with a 'Just Cause for Eviction' ordinance may be entitled to additional protections. For tenants covered by a "just cause for eviction" law, foreclosure alone is not a basis for eviction. The cities below have some kind of "just cause" ordinance.
