Most of the work we do for tenants is on a contingency fee basis. This means we don’t get paid until and unless you get paid, in which case we get a percentage of the total recovery. This only applies where the tenant is initiating a lawsuit in Superior Court.
In eviction defense cases (where the tenant is being sued), Rent Board matters and certain special cases, we charge an hourly rate at a sliding scale of $200.00 to $400.00 an hour. Tenants remain financially responsible for all non-attorney costs of litigation, such as filing fees, service of process and depositions.
