2026 BALLOT GUIDE

The election is November 3rd and we have your guide on how to vote on critical housing ballot measures! These measures will impact affordable housing and tenant rights in California for years to come. It includes threats to affordable housing from the real estate industry that we MUST defeat.

STATE MEASURES

YES on Proposition 1

Creates $11.25 billion in funding for affordable housing across California including specific funds set aside for veterans and working families.

NO on Proposition 43

This would make it nearly impossible for cities to raise money for affordable housing projects and it restricts communities ability to support local public services.

No on Proposition 45

Prop 45 would fast-track costly polluting projects like data centers, forest clear-cutting and pipelines.

CITY MEASURES

YES on Measure E – Redwood City

Limits annual rent increases to 5% per year and cracks down on unjust evictions.

YES on Measure S – San Pablo

Limits annual rent increases to 60% of inflation with a maximum increase of 3% a year.

YES on Proposition I – San Francisco

Ensures voter-approved funds are finally spent on traditional affordable housing, innovative social housing, and eviction defense–all without raising taxes on anyone.

NO on Measure H – Salinas

Measure H would repeal Salinas’ rent stabilization, just-cause eviction, anti-harassment and rental registration protections. A NO vote keeps all four in place!
