Rent Stabilization

Exemptions

SFH and condos per Costa Hawkins Act. Anything built after 7/1/1979. Government-owned or subsidized rental properties per local law.

How much can rent be increased and how often?

75% of CPI

Is banking allowed?

No

Are passthroughs or additional costs allowed (pets, utilities, parking, etc)?

Landlord can petition for fair return, MNOI basis, 60% of CPI
